Yeaaaaah....
The Snappagator did a shred. There I said it. I like making up words and names - hate it, love it, don't care but today I present you the official Snappagator.
Ein the Snappagator is truly the epitome of a sassy corgi. Not gonna lie, this baby made me cry so much. He's stubborn and wants what he wants - but I'm not really gonna complain! One thing about him is that he's so full of love. I don't know, but this loaf right here is so full of love.

Ein, our dear Snappagator, is growing up so fast! I honestly don't know how many times I'm going to say that throughout the course of his life but probably until he's three or four, or until the next puppy. Hans is a big pup so while he'll always be my puppy, it does feel like he's grown up already.
Ein, on the other hand, is smol and is expected to remain smol. But what does his small paws love? Just like big brother Hans, he also loves the snow!
Our boys are definitely loving it! Hans loves to play in snow but he gets enough of it after a few minutes. Granted his fur isn't that thick (and he's so big it's hard to find a good coat), Ein is fluffy and welp, looks like he's a snow dog at heart.
It's a beautiful, freezing Saturday morning and I had to go pick up Mocha from Barkshire Pet Care Services in Neenah, WI. Bear was also not with me today, so it's things I had to face alone - such as driving through County Road A through pure ice. I've never done that, but here I am in one piece!
Finally, I laid my sweet prince Mocha to rest and he will stay with us forever.
Bittersweet Biscuit
Today, I also had to go back to the Oshkosh Humane Society to pickup a new special piig - Biscuit Piig. It's a bit bittersweet, having to bid farewell to Mocha and welcoming a new family member.
I am posting this with a very heart. I rarely post about sad things but it is part of life so it's quite inevitable at some point.
My Rainbow Mocha Everything was all good, everything was just fine until I went up Saturday night to find an unresponsive and cold Mocha Piig. I was alone at home, with a little puppy who needed so much care - I felt so helpless. There was nothing I can do anymore for Mocha. There was nothing I can do for myself but cry there and break down.
Ein the Snappagator is now transforming into a less floofier version but oh boy, he's still one fluffy bundle of joy! He's growing up so fast but I know it's only been a few weeks, not even a month since we brought him home. I'm already missing the floof baby, I need more puppies. More corgos plz?
We're still working on a couple of things - potty training and Hans not being so deathly afraid of him! Which is odd, although I know he's never been really with a tiny pup so I can see why he's so cautious. Well then, now let's hope he tells me when it's time to go potty. Yes, our poor carpet.
Oh goodness, Ein's a fast growing puppy!!! A few weeks ago, he was making his weird cries of sadness as we drove home and he was missing his mom and siblings. It really broke my heart but I know he is going to a loving home (us!) lol. My mission is to make sure he is very loved, just like his big brother Hans!
Next thing I know - here he is chasing Hans nom-noming on random things. Yep, he sure is more of a chewer than his big bro. I'm puppy-proofing the house more than I ever had to. His current favorite target? Daddy Bear's shoes!
I've been doing my best to train Ein and he is a very smart puppy. I also noticed that even at a young age, he is very stubborn. I think I need to do a tad bit more research of corgos! So far, I've learned that they are very strong willed and they will nip - as they are herding dogs. I also learned that you must break these habits while they are young. On top of that... I also learned that, back to, they are stubborn.
Things can still get magical ♥
I don't think I previously mentioned it yet, but Bear was laid off at the end of November due to the pandemic. It's truly unfortunate, especially that we just bought a home. Thankfully, there's already a lot of back up assistance for people affected by the pandemic so I was able to postpone some bills. That being said, things are a little tight with just my income and savings. It really sucks because I don't think I would be able to buy gifts and all. Now, now - that doesn't mean Christmas is over right? Great things still happen and I know this is just a challenge. So let's get on with the magic! Welcome home Ein Pup!
And today, I present to you the new and improved...
Piig Kingdom
Alright, alright - it's not as fancy as the other guinea pig cage setups but I'm actually really happy that they now have all this space to play and popcorn! I decided to expand the Midwest enclosure a few months ago and I purchased my C&C Cages since. I couldn't set it up yet because I wanted to set them up in this room and I was still painting at the time.
The Midwest Cage has an area of about 7 square feet. It's the minimum that's good for two piigs. Mocha and Machiatto had some bad fights and even Bear noticed that the enclosure is just two small for the boys.
Me: I want another puppy. I think Hans would really love to have a sibling. See how he cries every time we drive by another puppy and how happy he gets when he's in daycare?
Bear: We can't. We don't own the house and we don't have enough room for two dogs. So we bought the house. And got a puppy :) Okay, I lied, that's not how it went. We've been planning to buy the house we live in for a few years now. Unfortunately, life happens and things change, and we were unable to move forward. See, I'm the kind of person that when I set my eyes on something, I have to get it. This is taking too long. So I told myself and Bear - we're getting the house this fall. Bear shrugged, sure. What better way to seal the deal than to make sure you're getting the best home warming gift to the family? Get a new family member. I put us on a waitlist for late 2020 or early 2021. And by October 25th, our Ein was born. Hello World, meet Ein the Corgi.
You're my pupshine, my baby pupshine...
Five years ago, on the morning of October 13th 2015, Bear came home from work and sat down on the couch with me. He asked me what I thought about adopting puppies. I said, well of course I think that would be amazing! He asked me if I would be interested in looking at puppies. Well, of course! Is that even a question? We've been thinking about adding a new member to the family we are starting. We went online and stumbled upon this beautiful pittie puppy named "Denny". Bear asked, do you want to go get him? Right now??? I gasped. He said, yeah like exactly right now! We drove down the shelter where Denny was... only to find out that he was already adopted a few weeks ago! My heart was broken. He asked where we saw the post and said their actual website was more up-to-date. I'm not so familiar with how it worked here back then. We browsed and I saw this puppy that resembled Denny. His name was Timothy. Needless to say, he came home with us and welp... Meet Hans the Pupshine. |
