I am fascinated by lights. Extremely, immensely, fascinated by lights. Maybe it's the astigmatism that makes it all the more beautiful, but lights really captivate me. This week, we went to the Oshkosh Celebration of Lights that was held on the EAA grounds. The event is held annually, and this year it runs from November 29th through December 31st.
This year, they are also doing Carriage Rides! Of course, we had to go!
We had to make reservations, so I had to book in advance. I knew it would be cold but oh goodness, today was a lot more colder with a winter warning! Did that stop me? No, I love the cold. For $15/person, you get onboard a wagon that were pulled by these beautiful, dark brown, Percheron horses. They are so beautiful!
I didn't really get the chance to take photos while on the wagon because there were other people and I was just mesmerized by the lights, as usual. The sound of the horse slowly trotting made it all the more wonderful, for me at least. I know - I'm like a child - amused by horse gallops and s'mores, let alone Christmas lights.
The wagon ride was a good 15 minutes but it didn't cover the whole area. However, the carriage tickets also includes letting your car go through the rest of the show at no extra cost. So of course, that's what we did.
If you have the chance, visit the Oshkosh Celebration of Lights before it is gone!
