It's not a saying for no reason, because it couldn't be any much more true. Generally, I'm a very positive person - or at least I try to be. See, positivity attracts positive energy, which then results to positive outcomes. I believe in that, I truly do. Unfortunately, no matter how positive our outlook is, life still happens and there will always be some challenges thrown at us. It's just something we couldn't avoid.
Alright, alright - what got me into this sad mode of unlikely not-so-jolly blogging? Welp, we went up north this weekend for Bear's grandmother's funeral. It was a bittersweet event in itself. It was sad that grandma had passed, but it was also nice to see some family. We then come home to a leaky water heater and we couldn't stop the leak. We turned off the inlet valve and it was still leaking so we were thinking, then maybe it's just a valve or quick pipe fix. There was no pilot light and there was no hot water, best I was hoping for was that it could dry up and get it over with after the valve or pipe was fixed.

Maybe it's a little late, but here we go...
HAPPY 4TH!
The puppy photoshoot was a little bit of a struggle. I didn't really plan any of this but I wanted to do a little bit of puppy celebration. We spent pretty much the whole day with Bear and his mom. It was a great day, he finally took her on a ride on the new bike but it was a bit short lived because it rained. I made my ribs, I think I will make it official that I'm the rib-bearer lol. For some reason I really enjoy making ribs so I think that's something I'll be sharing soon.
Wow, it's been a very long time since I last sat down and used my laptop. It's been several months - but there's actually been some real progress in real life. The Craft Room is actually functional and not gonna lie that the lounge area is actually the most used area more than anything.
There's more fun stuff and travel that happened - and more to come for sure! I've also learned a little bit more about myself and my constant dilemma of not being able to do much of anything on a regular basis on top of the short attention span. Anyways, I hope you enjoy my new video! Can't deny I'm really loving videography more and more :)

It's that most wonderful time of the year....
Merry Yule!
I definitely love this season, and this year we celebrated Yule as a family, away from home, in a small, cozy cabin by the Brule River right on the border of Wisconsin and Michigan.
As you may already know, photography and arts are my biggest passion. I've always loved anything imagery related since I was little and photography is an integral part of my existence. Well then, why not take one step forward and explore flying and capturing the sky.
Today, we welcome my new DJI Mini 2
I absolutely have no clue what I'm doing - I did a little bit of research and the basic rules. I confirmed I do not need a Part 107 license because I have no intentions to use it commercially; and I do not need to register the drone itself since the weight is below 250 grams. That being said - I still need a lot of practice because this is a totally new game.
Now, let's take a look a first look at this baby.
When we first brought Ein home, Hans was definitely not feeling it. He was anxious and aloof - completely uncertain what this mini loaf is doing here and why the mini loaf didn't go home that night. It took a little bit for him to warm up and be comfortable. I think he was also a little bit afraid to hurt the little snapaggating thing that bravely tries to herd him.
Hans is a very good big brother and he's been very considerate of Ein's challenging ball of energy. I'm really happy how much they love each other and Ein definitely loves his big brother very much.
I did it! I finally did it!!
While I was pretty well adjusted when I moved here in the US, there were still a some things that took quite some time for me to get comfortable with. One of that is driving - I didn't really like driving alone, especially going to far places that's outside of my safe zone. Well today I finally did it - I went to South Park Beach in Waupaca! As simple as it sounds, it was a big win. I met up with a good friend from work, Elyse, and we had a great time under the sun!
Oh yaaas it finally happened! Alright, well it happened last week but I'm still as happy as I was after I left the salon!
I finally achieved that level of ash blonde!
My hair is dark brown with very fine strands. I've always loved coloring my hair and I actually started when I was 11 years old. My mom let me go to a salon and had my hair colored burgundy. I was really happy and it felt really... good. Most Asian hair is very dark (like mine) but also have very thick strands.
Happy Sunday everyone!
And Happy Father's day to all the deserving hooman and paw-dads out there! The weather's been quite good this week. It was really hot the days prior but this week it was less scorching than usual. It's still quite hot, planting herbs on my veggie garden facing the sun most definitely killed them. There goes additional casualties. Overall tho, it's been better. Reasons to get a mini greenhouse. I have to admit, our garden is my pride and joy. I mean, on top of a lot of other things that I take pride of. Let me rephrase that, it's my life's spring & summer pride and joy. That being said, I put a lot of work in it over the past few years. Living in a home we didn't own yet then, I really didn't make that much modifications - just planted a few perennials and mostly annuals. This time, we're able to do more to it and I'm excited on what other changes the future will bring. In the meantime, let's focus on NOW!
I did it, I finally caved in!
So, if you're on an social media especially in Facebook or Instagram, I'm almost certain that you've heard the trend of putting on faux freckles. It's been around for a while and it's kind of interested me for a bit, but never really had that urge to do it... until a few weeks ago. I recently just reactivated my subscription for BoxyCharm and their Pop-up opened up last month. If you haven't heard of BoxyCharm or not familiar with it, I'll be doing a review of my next Premium Box! Anyways, so - I saw this faux freckle pen and included it in my Pop-up order. Thing is, they don't ship their pop up and I was starting to get impatient. A few days ago, I was doing my usual online-window-shopping and stumbled upon some YouTube videos showing how to put freckles using henna. Now, that got me thinking so I originally planned to get those henna cones off Amazon. But then, what if I don't even like how I'd look with freckles right? I don't want anything semi permanent. I was starting to really get impatient for the Pop-up items so there - I got this pair from Amazon!
Happy Sunday!
Tomorrow's yet another Monday. Booooooooooooo. I've been thinking a little bit about my blog - and it's honestly a continuation of the Kimi Goes Places. This was my old blog about travel and make up, it was doing quite okay until the Photobucket fiasco happened and I had to shut it down. When I first started, I was in my early 20's - still a girl at heart, trying out random things in life, care free, independent, stupid at times, it was all fun! Now in my 30's, as much as I hate to admit that yes I am a geriatric millennial, I guess it's no longer fitting to still think I'm that girl lost with a camera. I mean, I'm still lost here and there but the tagline is getting old. Throw me in another side of town and I find myself driving in a loop. But then I think it's more fitting that I am now you're Tita (Auntie)
When it comes to brand names, I'm a little in the middle. Some people always go for the most expensive brand out there and some people seem to have an allergy and have it all out against any brand that makes it cost more than your Great Value version.
It would be an absolute lie if I said brands don't matter to me - because it does. Today, I will tell you why. But before that here's something I sort of splurged a bit on. I finally bought a bag on impulse because "I'm not gonna lose this one!" Last time I saw a bag I really liked when we were at Macy's I hesitated for a week and next thing I know it was completely gone. So it's not happening again. Nope!
Now I tell you why...
Yeaaaaah....
The Snappagator did a shred. There I said it. I like making up words and names - hate it, love it, don't care but today I present you the official Snappagator.
Ein the Snappagator is truly the epitome of a sassy corgi. Not gonna lie, this baby made me cry so much. He's stubborn and wants what he wants - but I'm not really gonna complain! One thing about him is that he's so full of love. I don't know, but this loaf right here is so full of love.
Another day of adulting. COVID is still a thing, believe it or not. Still can't wait for all these to be over and I'm absolutely hoping everything goes back to normal but I suppose this is life for now. However, adulting must go on...
Best thing to do when spring is approaching but it's still cold AF?
Mmmm... relax, have a good sip of coffee and do your nails and have a steak!
I'm actually talking about two of the great discoveries I've had so far - and no kidding, it's steak and nails indeed. You're probably wondering how that makes senses. Maybe you don't but oh well... here's why! |
