The girls are doing great, and finally got to name them. I invited our neighbor, Katie, to check them out and had her name one of them. Now I have my lovely ladies - Phyllis (supposedly a Jersey Giant), Ethel (Easter Egger), and Rose (Easter Egger). I don't think I will be naming the others, the Welsummers all look the same lol. I was told that I should put a foot tag on them, which I do have, but I don't know yet.

FINALLY! After many, many years of thinking about it, planning to get it, then not pushing through - it's finally happened!
I'm officially a proud chicken mama!
In case you're unaware, I've always loved chickens. I really don't know why, or what triggered it but I've always liked having them. When I was a kid, I remember that you can win them in these raffle carts that were just outside our school. I remember that I couldn't win any - so I tracked down the hatchery (by me, a then-11 year old, forcing the raffle vendors to tell me LOL) and went there to buy two chicks. I came home with chicks .
