Mr. Brews Taphouse with the Boys

If there's one thing we love doing, it's checking out new places to dine. I love experiencing different food, including local places and good spirits. This is also the part I enjoy most when we're travelling, but of course, experiencing good ol' Wisconsin is great!

Mr. Brews Taphouse is a Wisconsin franchise that started in Weston back in 2013. A few months ago, a branch opened up on Oshkosh Ave. and of course we have to try it. My husband is a beer enthusiast - that's one thing he takes seriously: finding great craft beer.

We've been talking about going there, so last week we finally did with our friend. They have a wide variety of beers and other drinks, some that you can get in store and some we haven't heard before.

Some of the beers can be quite pricey, but if you're in for taste to find one that you'd really like, they also offer 5oz glasses so you can take a sip and decide what you want! That's one thing I love about tap houses and breweries that offer that. I'm not a big drinker (anymore) and I've learned to enjoy tasting drinks - yeah, not the same me who want to get wasted before midnight. I find my older self really enjoying tasting beer and wine, and well, choosing what I'd love! So does my Bear.

The food? Wonderful! Their options range from burgers to burger bowls and fish tacos. I tried their Kentucky Bourbon craft burger, and oh it was delicious. It was also huge, at least for me. I realized that my Asian body is meant to be small and trying to finish up the American sizes will not make me get taller, only wider. I'm not a fan of working out, so I've been trying to limit my calorie intake. That being said, I had it cut in half and ate the rest for supper. Well, it was still good!

I tried a few beers, but there was one thing I could not resist.

I know, I know - I'm in a taphouse but I really wanted to try their margarita. So, I did LOL. My go-to is almost always a Tequila Sunrise, but they didn't have it in their menu so I went ahead with my first love.
