Just when I was super excited for this week to come and go, the COVID hits the fam.
It finally happened after three years of evading the monster of a virus, it finally hit Bear and I. I was super excited to work this week because my boss is finally back from his leave. I had to go all mushy and emo about how glad I was, and the following day - dread. Absolute dread! But let me assure you - we are now doing well.
Let me tell you one thing about this tho - I have never felt flu like this ever before. I'm just glad the ordeal went by fast.
The Pain.
My week started pretty normal until I woke up early Wednesday morning, probably around 1 or 2 a.m., no one really knows for sure. My body was aching and I was freezing. I probably had really high fever at the time, but I was very tired, sleepy, and in severe pain. I bundled myself up and did my best to sleep it off. It was definitely hard and I was aching for probably an hour or so before I finally dozed off. Wednesday morning I was still in a lot of pain, but I took some pain killers and went to work. The brain definitely did not work well. I was slow, I couldn't focus, but what the hell right? Life goes on so I tried my best until the pain just got the best of me. I had to leave work before noon. I spent all of Wednesday until Friday in pain. I am not even exaggerating one bit. If you know me, you would know that I have a very high pain tolerance. When I get the flu or any type of sickness, I either sleep it off or plow through the day. I don't always complaint unless it's really bad. Well unfortunately, those days were really bad. My back ached like I worked out all day and did deadlifts beyond what I can manage (which isn't a lot). My legs and my arms felt like they've been beaten up and bruised. So imagine your typical flu body aches, multiplied by maybe... 10? The Chills. I was freezing. Three layers of fleece blankets and I was shivering. My body was burning, but I felt like I was freezing. I probably should've taken a cool shower or something, but I was (again) in pain. The Coughing and Sore Throat. And Other Things... As the weekend rolled in, I started to feel better but Bear started to get sick. He pretty much went through the same thing. Just when I thought I was all okay, I started to cough and now my throat is very sore. No winning I guess? I also experienced other symptoms I've never felt before - I completely lost taste. I was actually pretty... amazed by the fact that I can't taste. It was like... nothing. The buds are getting better but no promises the dish I just made is perfect. I think it is but who knows lol. I was definitely tired. I got tired so quick, I had to take some Boost oxygen to assist with the day. Well, after all this I'm glad this is all we are going through. Terrible, but not so long lived (I hope). I really am looking forward to get better sooner. ![]()
