I did it, I finally caved in!
So, if you're on an social media especially in Facebook or Instagram, I'm almost certain that you've heard the trend of putting on faux freckles. It's been around for a while and it's kind of interested me for a bit, but never really had that urge to do it... until a few weeks ago. I recently just reactivated my subscription for BoxyCharm and their Pop-up opened up last month. If you haven't heard of BoxyCharm or not familiar with it, I'll be doing a review of my next Premium Box! Anyways, so - I saw this faux freckle pen and included it in my Pop-up order. Thing is, they don't ship their pop up and I was starting to get impatient. A few days ago, I was doing my usual online-window-shopping and stumbled upon some YouTube videos showing how to put freckles using henna. Now, that got me thinking so I originally planned to get those henna cones off Amazon. But then, what if I don't even like how I'd look with freckles right? I don't want anything semi permanent. I was starting to really get impatient for the Pop-up items so there - I got this pair from Amazon!
I got these Pudaier Freckle Pens for about $7 so I figured, not bad for trying out and you get two shades. The reviews were mostly good. The only ones that stood out to me is that they come off as really dark so don't expect a subtle freckle look.
The pens look like, well, literal markers lol.
I prepped my face like how I usually do. It's a pretty simple routing of moisturizer then liquid foundation. I don't really set it with powder as I often don't like how thick it looks. If you also notice, I don't put a thick layer of foundation, just because I don't want to have a "full face" on a regular basis. Today, I used First Aid Beauty Hello FAB Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer and Il Makiage Flawless Base Foundation. Unfortunately, I can't find my first photo - but the freckles did come off as too dark. I ended up brushing another thin layer of foundation to subtle it down and it actually looked a lot better. I think it also helped setting the freckles as they lasted all day even after going out and gardening when I came back home.
I really liked how it long it lasted, especially for how much I paid for them. I didn't put a lot since I wasn't so sure how I will look but I will try again and see how that goes! Hopefully, the other pen I ordered is here by then.
#OOTD Shameless Plug On another note, I've been telling Bear to become my loyal Instagram Husband. He's not very eager but I think we're getting there. I still need to do some personal effort, hah!
Instagram Husband does a good job, and I guess Instagram Puppies also need their photos taken, as if I don't take enough. I love my photo bombing babies, tho! They're my sunshinesssssss...
To sum it all up - I like faux freckles, I'll try it more so expect more on it. Who knows I might end up putting the henna thing and hope it doesn't look funny or whatever. Bear still hesitant to be the Instagram Husband he is meant to be. And puppies. Life is better with puppies of all ages lol
