It's not a saying for no reason, because it couldn't be any much more true. Generally, I'm a very positive person - or at least I try to be. See, positivity attracts positive energy, which then results to positive outcomes. I believe in that, I truly do. Unfortunately, no matter how positive our outlook is, life still happens and there will always be some challenges thrown at us. It's just something we couldn't avoid.
Alright, alright - what got me into this sad mode of unlikely not-so-jolly blogging? Welp, we went up north this weekend for Bear's grandmother's funeral. It was a bittersweet event in itself. It was sad that grandma had passed, but it was also nice to see some family. We then come home to a leaky water heater and we couldn't stop the leak. We turned off the inlet valve and it was still leaking so we were thinking, then maybe it's just a valve or quick pipe fix. There was no pilot light and there was no hot water, best I was hoping for was that it could dry up and get it over with after the valve or pipe was fixed.
Easy fix you say? Wrong.
I immediately called our plumber and I was hoping for some good news. Of course, that's not what I got and apparently we needed to replace the whole water heater. INSTA-PANIC. Well, it has to be done so we got it done and now I contacted our insurance company because we have this "Home Systems" coverage that had a $500 deductible. Still hurts the pocket but let's go ahead.
I opened a claim and next thing I know I was told they did not cover wear and tear. Well, the tank broke according to the plumber so I'm hoping the adjusters don't consider that "wear and tear" because technically, it's a mechanical breakdown.
Moving forward. It got so hot. Literally. Hot. I was working this afternoon when I noticed that it was really hot in the house. Then the rice I made the night before was spoiled - which almost never happens because our house is constantly around 68° to 70°. I checked and it was a whopping 77°!!! OMG I was dying -------- and why!??? **watch me rant below**
Why oh why oh why!???
Do you know how much a central air conditioner costs? Another few thousand dollars! I just jumped in and got our water heater replaced. The AC don't need to be dying! Well hopefully, it's not something major. Here I go again. We theorize that it may be just a faulty thermostat. The one we have is ancient. Perhaps time for a Google Nest. Oh well, there you go - my rant for the day. And because I need some self love here's some wasted looking supposed to be sleeping selfies...
