SEO is a pretty simple concept, but putting it into action is quite a struggle for me. I'm pretty tech savvy but playing with keywords and this and that, I guess, is too much for me to grasp. I re-opened my shop last year and there hasn't been much sales nor traffic. I received some mentoring from small business groups that focus on online selling and there's so much to learn about SEO. I get the concept, but it's hard to figure out which is which.
Not going to lie, getting my little business to take off is taking a lot of work, investment and sometimes I just feel defeated. In contrary to what I'm trying to focus on - positivity.
But... but... but... I'm not giving up now!

I'm very happy I made new stickers! I love the way they look and I'm super excited to use them. I've always been wanting to make my own stickers, and I'm glad when I finally did, and now I'm able to make more of my original designs. So what more inspiration but the things I love most? Sparkles, stars and puppies... and foodie! I'm excited to see what I come up with next.

2022 was a year full of new experiences, successes, and heart aches. I love looking at the bright side of things. If you have been following me, you know that I do my best to shoo away any negativity and try to keep an eye on overcoming obstacles and staying on top of things.
Despite my best efforts to stay on a good note, it's quite inevitable for some things (or people) to squeeze in some darkness into my life. That being said, it's one of the things I still hope to overcome this year and remain strong.
There is chaos that hides behind the rainbow.
I always do my best to look at the bright side of things and see the positive results amid whatever is seemingly going wrong. Some people might think I'm extra #YouGotThis #Positivity and all that - but there's definitely a reason. Today, I choose to share a little bit more on what's behind my positivity rainbow.
I decided to paint something today. While abstract is my favorite style of paintings, I rarely do it myself. Typically I use watercolor and paint nature. I decided to play some modern violin music and got my new easel ready for use. Today I painted this piece I call, "The Storm in my Head".
Is it too early to tell?
Well it's already December in Oshkosh, Wisconsin and we haven't had a good snow just yet. There was supposed to be a blizzard today and we were supposed to get about five inches of snow. It's almost midnight and nothing. Some places did quite a lot tho, so I think for some reason it totally skipped our home.
While I wallow in my disappointment that I didn't get my white, fluffy snow - most of the people here are glad. For reasons that I understand, but can't justify myself, I know why many people here do not like the snow. It's cold, it makes the streets icy and harder to drive, you have to shovel or blow the snow and on, and on. Well I do not hate doing any of those, and I actually would choose to blow the snow rather than mowing the lawn.
I probably should've said this last week but it's officially fall! The leaves have turned, snicker doodle is in the air, the wind is chilly - it's absolutely lovely! This is also the time of year when I hoard the autumn scents from Bath and Body Works because not gonna lie, it's my scent all year round. It's also time for family photos! Had some new family photos taken, and actually the first time we're able to do fall pictures. Really excited and glad we got it scheduled just in time. We were introduced to this small park/trail in town that I never knew about. It's actually a very small place, but it's very pretty especially for a small family session.
This season also signals the start and end of certain things.
My shop is now live!! I'm super excited and also very anxious. I finally re-launched my shop and it's now available through my store website, Etsy, and Facebook Shop!
It is currently still a long and challenging journey. I have lots to learn and yet to make an online sale. I appreciate the supportive friends and family who are encouraging and buying from my business, but of course I am also looking forward to reach more people. I have more designs to add and oh goodness, more SEO information to learn and do!
Finally, the weekend! Still not feeling 100% great, but we're getting there. So thankful I work from home and don't have to do manual labor, but the brain is also not at its finest so it could be draining. Perks of WFH - I'm gross and stinky, but can still go to work. Non-perks of WFH - I'm gross and stinky and still have to go to work. I'm pretty much behind everything I want to get done, but I think pushing myself during work days and barely sleeping definitely kicked my immune system to the garbage.

Before we move forward, the puppers wanted to share some love ♥
Just when I was super excited for this week to come and go, the COVID hits the fam.
It finally happened after three years of evading the monster of a virus, it finally hit Bear and I. I was super excited to work this week because my boss is finally back from his leave. I had to go all mushy and emo about how glad I was, and the following day - dread. Absolute dread! But let me assure you - we are now doing well.
Let me tell you one thing about this tho - I have never felt flu like this ever before. I'm just glad the ordeal went by fast.
Of course I opened a can of glitter that exploded everywhere so there's no going back.
What have I done?? Welp, while it's very plausible that I could accidentally make glitter explode in midair to cover an entire room, it's more of a metaphor of the things I do getting myself into things I probably... should have taken one step at a time. But alas, no regrets!
It all started with an "upgrade" - I've been really wanting to sell stickers. I love stickers myself and I love designing them and making my own, so why not sell some as well? I did some experiments here and there and I'm not going to lie - I wasn't really impressed with my HP OfficeJet Pro 6968.
Instead of pondering into nothingness and just contemplating my thoughts, I decided I'll just go ahead and jot them down... right here. When we got home, I was hoping I would have the time and mental energy to accomplish things but I guess I wanted to savor the last few hours of my vacation and welp, I binged, napped, and went around town instead.
It's been over a week and I haven't really done anything on my list: Make videos Make art Set up the store Blah, blah and blah...
Needless to say, extremely disappointed in myself.
We are finally home!
I haven't updated in a bit and sadly a bit delayed uploading some videos but I am pretty very happy. Just a quick update, my 2-week vacation from work is about to end which is quite sad, but I think we've accomplished quite a bit in those two weeks. That being said - more updates to come!
A few weeks ago, our water heater broke. It was leaking from the top and the basement was starting to flood a little bit. I urgently had to call a plumber and unfortunately, it had to be replaced. We were billed for $1,200 and I had to file a claim for our Home Systems Protection through State Farm. They approved our claim without any issues but there was a $500 deductible. Many friends and family have been telling me about getting an actual home warranty so that's what I did on July 12th.
I was browsing online and like a lot of services, every company has both good and bad reviews. One of the "most recommended" companies was Home Choice Warranty. While I was still on their website checking out plans, I had to fill out my personal information and before I can even submit it, I already got a phone call from one of their sales rep - Matthew. I should've taken this as a major red flag for their hard selling tactics but I was still in the state of panic about expenses and things breaking. I was paranoid that what if one breaks after another - then I'll have to shell out another $500 and how many more $500 deductibles do I need to pay??
I entertained the offer and spoke with Matthew. Bear was at work and I didn't want to make a decision immediately, but Matthew made sure that if I sign up now I have 30 days to cancel. I was still hesitant, so he gave me what were seemingly great offers that was quite too hard to pass.
I made some videos today and I'm really hoping I get to upload them on schedule. For some reason editing them on desktop is taking a lot longer than making them on my tablet or my phone. I don't know why - probably because they tend to be longer? But I can only assume.
Anyways, I had a lot of fun making the videos. I put my full face on, and did my hair. Yeah it was fun. I rarely go out and sometimes I'm just too lazy to get ready - so I think starting to make videos add up to more reasons why I need some self love. I don't really think I'm neglecting myself but I am also just meh and bleh... I don't think it's a bad thing but I love makeup and dressing up so why waste my resources? LOL. |
